I was raised on a farm in the South Island of New Zealand, and was always encouraged to live a creative life. Painting and drawing became my most cherished pastime and ultimately a strong life force.

To explore beyond the obvious, create another perception of the world, to simplify reality and share ideas and beliefs – this is my own way of entertaining the viewer. I love to evoke emotion and a sense of being ‘in’ the painting and absorbing its colourful and often humorous atmosphere. 

I have attended many workshops in several media over the last 30 years as an artist and have won numerous awards in Southland and Otago. My paintings are held in many collections both in New Zealand and overseas.
